Most screenshots in https://help.eclipse.org/latest/topic/org.eclipse.jdt.doc.user/gettingStarted/qs-BasicTutorial.htm?cp=1_1_0 are outdated. Many are from WinXP, and JDK versions mention 1.4, which probably should be updated to ~1.8

Java development user guide -> Getting Started -> Basic tutorial -> Creating your first Java project -> Creating the project -> Step 6.:
The filename ends is junit3.8.1src, and has no .settings

The Debug Shell is now found under 
Window -> Show View -> Other... -> Debug -> Debug Shell

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
