As the user types, please automatically wrap the Javadoc. If the person hits backspace and the text can fit on the previous line, please automatically unwrap the Javadoc. If the person hits delete, then automatically reformat the following lines in the paragraph. Ideally, the Javadoc editing experience would be similar to that of Google Docs or Microsoft Word in that the user does not have to even think about wrapping as they type, hit backspace or hit delete.
