Sharing folders between the "org.eclipse.jdt.core.ecj.validation" project and "org.eclipse.jdt.core" is confusing:
 automatic refactoring/cleanups do not properly work,
 possibility to oversee errors,
 possibility to oversee callers,
 ...

It would be better to have those packages in a dedicated "ecj" project which is referenced from jdt.core
