Description Ed Willink CLA 2021-05-05 07:03:00 EDT
I just tried to add Sirius to my installation so that my Sirius-based XML editor can be used. Failed at the first two attempts.

Problem is that only a few of the feature details visible in the Install New Software ... (after Bug 573375 is worked around) have a clear "Install this to ..." and that intuitively I have no idea what a "Specifier" is. How does it relate to a *.odesign editor? What features are needed to get the Sirius perspective withut which an editor cannot be opened? Why are Properties separate from anything else, surely an editor comes with Properties?

I tried installing the Samples since surely that must be good, but it seems to have very inadewuate transitive dependencies.

Suggest: an "Install this" in all descriptions. Clearer text mentioning perspectives and editors. Sensible transitive install dependencies.

Marking as CLOSED/WONTFIX, but only because bugzilla does not allow me to set it to CLOSED/MOVED.

No it hasn't. There is no indication that I raised it. I am not a watcher of it.
