Description Lakshmi P Shanmugam CLA 2021-04-13 17:14:18 EDT
The Eclipse SDK and platform builds for Mac arm64 have 2 launcher folders with the same content.

org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.cocoa.macosx.arm64
org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.cocoa.macosx

Checked the Mac x86_64 build, it has only org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.cocoa.macosx.x86_64

Looks like org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.cocoa.macosx needs to be removed from the arm64 builds.
Comment 1 Lakshmi P Shanmugam CLA 2021-04-13 18:04:46 EDT
The project org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.cocoa.macosx was added to the repo by https://git.eclipse.org/r/c/equinox/rt.equinox.framework/+/175140

@Sravan, why is this project required? Can you please remove it if not needed anymore?
It causes duplicate launcher folder to be added in the arm64 build.

Patch fixes plugin and artifact id of o.e.equinox.launcher.cocoa.macosx.arm64.

This was added to make sure p2 generates the required metadata properly.

When I managed to get the build out we were using Tycho built from I-build snapshot. You can try removing the symbolic link and try locally. if the build works you can commit.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
