Description Ed Willink CLA 2021-03-28 03:44:56 EDT
While trying to find the "Re-use editor" preference I examined the pulldown menu on the toolbar and am totally confused. There is no hovertext to help me.

"Show As Tree" is ticked - fine I see a tree.

"In Imports" is ticked - ok I probably want a transitive search,

"In Deprecated" is not ticked - oops I won't see deprecated matches
"In Non-Deprecated" is not ticked - oops I won't see non-deprecated matches

Confusion no "In Deprecated" and no "In Non-Deprecated" should mean that nothing ever matches.

Clearly the functionality is not intuitively obvious and not clarified by hovertext.

With not-checked as the default, perhaps the labels should be "Exclude Deprecated", "Exclude Non-Deprecated" with a warning if both excluded.

Presumably "In Inports" should be "Exclude Import Declarations" for consistency and to avoid my mis-interpreation as transitive search.

These options only show op when doing Java search, moving to JDT.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
