I'm updating my projects to Java 11 and have to change a lot of dependencies. Each time I'm doing this, Eclipse goes to "Updating plugin dependencies" and blocks all user operation for at least a minute (400 Plugins open in den workspace). When I save multiple Manifest at the same time, only one is saved and "Updating plugin dependencies" is shown, before saving the rest. 1. Can the "Updating plugin dependencies" operation be moved to the background? 2. Why is it happening even when "build automatically" is disabled? 3. Can it at least wait for some time and only start when the other resources are saved as well?
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
