See Bug 541068. It was marked for deleted more than 2 years ago.

As per https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse/API_Central/API_Removal_Process this can be removed in 4.19M1

Perhaps the filter needs to be tweaked for 4.19 stream. I will rebase post master is open for 4.19.

I think /org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/porting/removals.html still needs update. 

IModelProvider is still listed as planned for deletion.
