For the Select widget (and may be other widgets) it could be interesting to set the background/foreground color of the widget itself. Today it is only possible to set the background/foreground color of the label preceding the widget.

This would need a change on the EEF side first. Unless someone funds this explicitly there is very little chance for it to happen.
