Created attachment 282453 [details] screenshot of the error Most likely due to a still not fixed bug in Spring Tools, in non-Spirng projects I frequently get in the completion popup as first entry Error while computing completion (see attached screenshot). While this is not really helpful, it additionally breaks my workflow since it is the active entry -- since I usually type rather fast and expect the completion I am looking for to be the first and active entry already, having that non-funtional entry "Error while computing completion" there means I have to look, why the completion does not appear and then move down one or more entries to the right position. So, if there really is no less intrusive way the entry should - not be the first one - if that cannot be avoided, it should not be the active one. Move the focus one down to an actually working entry
Please provide the stack trace from the Error Log view and the build id / jdt plug-in details.
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers. Version: 4.15.0.20200313-1200 Build id: 20200313-1211 Did not yet experience it again, since it usually crops up in non-spring projects - so no stacktrace right now. Nevertheless, my issue is not so much about the entry appearing as such -- this is hardly evitable. It's really more about the last paragraph, how to deal with it once it occurs.
(In reply to arne anka from comment #2) > It's really more about the last paragraph, how to deal with it once it > occurs. Granted, but to find out about this entry, we must first find which plug-in produces it. JDT does not contain the string "Error while computing completion".
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
