I often turn off the option that says 'switch to debug perspective when 
launching program in debug mode' because (a) it takes a long time to switch to 
the debug perspective and (b) I usually don't need it right away anyway, only 
later on when I actually hit a breakpoint or decide to manually suspend the 
program. So I would really like the following preference:
'Switch to debug perspective when a breakpoint is hit'

This should work currently. There is no preference to control this - the 
debugger always comes to the front when a breakpoint is hit. Is this not 
working for you?

Does not currently work for me.
One data point I forgot about earlier: I used customize perspective to add the 
Run/Debug actions to my Resource perspective, which is the perspective I have 
open when this occurs. My debug perspective is open but not visible. I have 
the 'switch to debug when debugging' turned off. The debug perspective does not 
show itself when a breakpoint is hit. 20011101.
