Description Lars Vogel CLA 2019-05-28 12:26:46 EDT
We just discussed in the PMC call that JDT code completion should be activated by default for all characters.

One blocking issue for that is IMHO the issue that code completion is synchronous. But once we have fixed that, I think the position of the PMC was that we should try this. Other tools like Vscode and IntelliJ do this also.

Noopur may know the bugs in which we discussed that in the past, I could not find it.

No, we did not decide this.

Hence the phrase "we just discussed" ;-)

I interpreted the new bug as a bit beyond just "discussed" :-)

Not really a duplicate. Bug 101420 is a requirement. Once bug 101420 some more work would be necessary for JDT to leverage it (eg add some preferences). So let's reopen.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
