It could be interesting to have assistant to create new nodes next to another.

For example, in state machine diagram, on hovering a state the assistant could propose to create a new state on the right, left, bottom or top of this state. Moreover, the new state should be automatically link with a transition from the existing node.
The same thing could be applicable to activity diagram on OpaqueAction.
