This is similar to bug 533490. "Compute dependency extent" seem not to consider / find indirect dependencies. Start Eclipse, new workspace, import org.eclipse.pde.api.tools project. Open MANIFEST.MF, go to Dependencies tab and right click on "org.eclipse.equinox.frameworkadmin" entry. The search starts and says "Dependency on org.eclipse.equinox.frameworkadmin - 0 dependencies". Try to remove that dependency. Compile error will be shown: org.eclipse.pde.api.tools/src/org/eclipse/pde/api/tools/internal/model/ApiModelFactory.java fails on line 285 with: The type org.eclipse.equinox.frameworkadmin.BundleInfo cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files Tooltip says: "The method getBundleInfo() from the type TargetBundle refers to the missing type BundleInfo".
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
