Developing a eclipse plugin using JDK 11 makes problems. At https://youtu.be/9_AQouAvehY the video shows missing packages (e.g. xml) because of using JDK 11 for launch time. The plugin itself (basheditor) does not have any dependencies to the former supported xml packages! So it seems the RCP Eclipse itself has these problems. For the video I downloaded fresh: https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technology/epp/downloads/release/2018-12/R/eclipse-rcp-2018-12-R-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz on 2019-01-06. Workspace was complete clean. More information in video. At least I was able to develop. But another developer did not even be able to build the eclipse plugin (I think he was using JDK 11) - see https://github.com/de-jcup/eclipse-bash-editor/issues/117
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
