Description Paul Thompson CLA 2018-03-13 17:03:07 EDT
Added the JRE System Library [Java SE 9 [9]] to my Java Build Path, now everywhere that I declared or have a String is throwing a java.lang.String is ambiguous error. I guess I can remove the library and add the individual pieces that I require, but this shouldn't be an issue.

Just a random guess: I think I've seen a symptom like that with a (testing) library that redefined java.lang.Object. Do you have anything like that?

Or can you share an example project?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
