The UI for managing build configurations (for example, set active build configuration) is currently bound to MBS projects. This means that Core Build projects have no way of selecting a build configuration.

The code in org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.ui which deals with build configurations should be moved/refactored so that it is available to Core Build projects as well.
