My LANG variable is ru_RU and it's inherited by Eclipse from system. It's also inherited by gcc, which replaces "warning" with "предпреждение". Eclipse matches lines with regexp and such line is treated as error, not warning

You may also unset LANG before spawning gcc (or any other compiler) process
