The JDK 9 release notes document a number of changes in javac starting at http://jdk.java.net/9/release-notes#JDK-8030741 Ideally, we should check all items if they are relevant for ecj, too.
Targeted to M3 so we will soon be in a position to cut this into individual bugs for which effort can be estimated.
(In reply to Stephan Herrmann from comment #0) > The JDK 9 release notes document a number of changes in javac starting at > http://jdk.java.net/9/release-notes#JDK-8030741 The link has moved here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/9-relnotes-3622618.html Glancing over the items, I can see we need a migration guide (bug 526038). Will take it up for M4.
Oops, should have stored the list, which I remember more conveniently structured than what I see now. OTOH, here's a convenient list of tickets against javac 9 with label release-note=yes :) https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8175317?jql=project%20%3D%20JDK%20AND%20fixVersion%20%3D%20%229%22%20AND%20component%20%3D%20tools%20AND%20labels%20%3D%20%22release-note%3Dyes%22%20AND%20Subcomponent%20%3D%20javac
At second look I found several tools/javac issues in http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/9-notes-3745703.html
bulk move to 4.8 M7
Bulk move out of 4.9
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
