Description Soumya Pattanayak CLA 2017-06-22 09:01:58 EDT
facing below issue while i am using Eclipse Luna with JDK1.8 and my source code compiler level is 1.8.

Generated servlet error:
The type java.lang.CharSequence cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files

First: are you required to use Luna? As of last Wednesday, Oxygen has been released which means Luna is three years behind. No more bug fixes will ever go into Luna.

Second: what you describe indicates that the JRE on your project's Build Path is somehow misconfigured. So please check (and report here) the following:

Project > Properties > Java Build Path > Libraries:

- Does it show a valid JRE System Library?

- Open the "JRE System Library" node and check it expands to the expected
  set of jar files

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
