When building a set of C/C++ libraries using headless managed builders, strange pauses are observed between individual jobs. No amount of memory/GC tweaking seems to have effect on them.

For a clean/build of a workspace with 30 projects, these gaps will add to approximately 10 minutes, thus severely slowing down the build process.

This is not observed in the Eclipse GUI, where clean/build jobs run smoothly one after another, without any observable delays.
