Would be good IMHO if the installation dialog persists the last selected update site.

Noticed again in this weeks RCP training that this would be a really nice usability enhancement.

My issues with the patch are 2:
1) It will force download content of p2 site on every open of dialog if one is not interested in it, this can put additional burden on the already suffering downloads server
2) I kind of miss the text "type or select a site" that is making it obvious what to do, with preselected site this is missing.

If 1) is carefully considered, 2) shouldn't be hard to add some more informative label.
Overall I'm undecided on it, Lars wdyt of running a twitter poll whether last p2 site should be persisted? IMHO, it makes a lot of sense when it's e.g. the main release site but doesn't look good when I use a one off site and next time it auto opens, looks kind of weird to me when it opens e.g. m2e-extras from which I have all items installed.

Anyone still interested in spending time on this one?

Yes, I plan to post to the IDE mailing list for opinions.

I'm guessing the poll did not convince us to move on this. Removing milestone.

Seems that there isn't interest in this one nor anything happened. Please reopen when there is convincing data this is what should be done.
