This is an extraction from Bug 494287 where it was discussed that it should be possible to create an internal transition by right-clicking on a state (simple or composite) and select something similar to the "new child"-menu in the model explorer. It was concluded that the best would be to align with the modeling assistant and make the same "tools" available in the modeling assistant to also be available on the right-click context menu for an element in a diagram (which have an associated modeling assistant). This should preferably be a generic Papyrus(-RT) feature that could be applicable to any element in a diagram which have an associated modeling assistant. Initially this could be implemented only for Papyrus-RT, but it should be considered that it later can be contributed to Papyrus. The generic feature should simply make the contents of the modeling assistant also available on a right-click "new child" context menu, that should ensure that whenever the contents of the modeling assistant is extended (or reduced), tools changing names and so on, that this should automatically be reflected on the context-menu as well. This would then solve the specific needs extracted from Bug 494287 to be able to create an internal transition by using a context menu when right-clicking on a simple/composite state, as well as getting all other modeling assistant available "for free" on such a "new child" menu.
If possible to create now, then move to future.
