Description justin georgeson CLA 2016-12-05 13:33:42 EST
We have a large multi-platform project which we build on all platforms in parallel. In order to deploy plugin jars to Maven we are trying to ensure that the jar files are identical in each platform (as Artifactory repository manager uses checksum storage to avoid duplicating files). We're finding that the .api_description files generated by the apitooling.apigeneration ant task (as run by org.eclipse.ant.core.antRunner via the tycho-eclipse-run plugin)
have platform-native line endings, causing the plugin jars to be "different" on each platform. Other than removing the automatic generation of the file and telling developers to validate and update the api_description file manually for each commit, is there a way to standardize the line endings?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
