It would be nice to change a tooltip and have it appear on the fly. A 
specially useful case would be to set the tootip to null and have it disappear 
right away.

As part of bug #323656, tooltip helper has been extended to support that subclasses can directly 'hide' the tooltip in addition to the automatic hide with delay. With these changes, the outlined use cases should be realizable, as such resolving this as a duplicate.
