Description Carolyn MacLeod CLA 2016-04-18 14:21:18 EDT
Does it make any sense for the Orion editor to support this?
http://editorconfig.org/

I notice that w3c specification doc follows this convention, and it looks like a bunch of editors support it (including eclipse). Scroll down in page to see list of supporting editors (some support natively and some require a plugin).

Reopening - this is not a dup of bug 482157.
This bug requests support for .editorConfig in the Orion editor.
- Many open source projects provide a .editorConfig file to specify things like spaces for tabs, etc.
- Other code editors have this capability already.
- Without this support, people using Orion to develop for other open source projects (like w3c) can inadvertently submit changes that fail CI testing (which is embarrassing).
