Other bundles already create ~/.eclipse:

org.eclipse.equinox.security		org.eclipse.oomph.p2			org.eclipse.oomph.ui			org.eclipse.recommenders.models.rcp

Andmore should IMHO use this folder as well so not to flood the home folder with lots of hidden folders, all of which are Eclipse-related.
