We need a standard suite of performance (and memory usage) tests that help us 
explore both the compile (weave) and runtime performance of AspectJ. This suite 
can help us measure performance and memory hotspots in 1.2 development, and 
serve as a basis for tracking release-release performance enhancements.

The initial version of this suite have been checked in by Matthew and Noel. Work 
is ongoing to extend the suite further.

closing out bug. more work will continue to be done on performance as and when
needed but the historical issues tracked by this bug are now gone.
