Some UI controls of the manifest / plougin.xml editor, that where accessible in previous Eclipse releases, unfortunately became inaccessible. - the tab items to select which set of properties you want to edit like: overview, dependencies, extensions etc.. -- i use to tab into the page and read the description as a workaround (not very nice) - the overview page is fairly accessible - some but not all labels for input fields in the extensions page -- Example: if creating a command: -- the "ID *" label is read by orca -- pressing tab once more takes me to the input field for this id --> as expected -- there are some more input fields with "browse..." buttons assigned to them, but their labels are not spoken -- so i use to open up this browse dialogs and check the title to get an idea what is expected Well, the same is true for the feature.xml editor but to keep things simple i just open this Bug and hope a fix for that would also fix the feature.xml editor. Pls, let me know if i should add a quite similar issue for the feature editor.
Moving out of 4.6
Jann, could you be more specific? I tried in 4.2 ( juno) as well as current eclipse ( neon). The behavior is similar and with tab, I am able to access most UI controls on all tabs of Manifest editor.
I haven't done too much of accessibility testing before. I tried with Narrator software and got equivalent results in Juno as well as Neon. Mouse doesn't work for Narrator but with keys and tabs, I was able to hear UI controls. A little more clarity on the bug would help.
Please see previous comment. I would need some more info on this to start on this.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
