Description Marvin Fröhlich CLA 2015-07-21 10:30:53 EDT
The default colors for "Mark occurrences" (some light yellow) are hard to be seen in the right ruler on Linux and GTK using some standard grayish theme. It was the same on GTK 2 as now on GTK 3.

A different color should be used as default.

The color is not yellow, at least for many years now.

You're right. Even more strange, that the yellow color reappeared. I will report back when this happens again.
Comment 4 Marvin Fröhlich CLA 2015-07-22 10:21:47 EDT
Ok, I think, I know, what I mixed up. "Write occurrences" have a separate color now. Were they set up using a "biased" color from the same setting as "Mark Occurrences" in prior versions? So, is "Write Occurrences" new?

"Write Occurrences" by default has this yellowish color, that is hard to see on Linux GTK.

I see it well on my Linux install.

This is, how the dialog appears after it was first opened, closed with OK and then opened again.

Appearance in the right ruler
Comment 11 Marvin Fröhlich CLA 2015-07-27 03:02:03 EDT
As you can see, both colors are barely visible with all defaults.

Yes I can see it.

One thing you could do (besides changing the color), is trying whether you like the following option:
General > Editors > Text Editors > Accessibility
[x] Use saturated colors in overview ruler
Comment 13 Marvin Fröhlich CLA 2015-07-27 09:46:21 EDT
Yes, this looks a little better, though only slightly. I think, Linux GTK needs better defaults.
Comment 14 Pierre-Yves Bigourdan CLA 2019-07-24 17:00:20 EDT
To be honest, it's not much better on Windows, the ruler overview colours for occurrences are quite hard to see.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
