At http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ I'm missing the ability to download the current Eclipse standard package (the former classic one) and especially the link to the other downloads (that points to http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/). At https://www.ics.uci.edu/~pattis/common/handouts/pythoneclipsejava/eclipsepython.html you can find a screenshot that shows that the standard package was offered once also for 4.4. It is also offered when I switch to the Developer builds (4.5).
Standard has been renamed to "Eclipse IDE for Eclipse Committers". See Bug 443296.
(In reply to Lars Vogel from comment #1) > Standard has been renamed to "Eclipse IDE for Eclipse Committers". See Bug > 443296. Thanks for the response. How I'm supposed to go to "Other Downloads" then? The link is still visible in the Mars M1 tab (as part of Eclipse Standard 4.5.0), but perhaps only it has not been updated yet?
The "Other Downloads" are in fact the Eclipse project downloads: https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/ The Eclipse project is a project at Eclipse.org. I know, it's confusing :(
(In reply to Denis Roy from comment #3) > The "Other Downloads" are in fact the Eclipse project downloads: > https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/ > > The Eclipse project is a project at Eclipse.org. I know, it's confusing :( Yes, it is confusing. It is not obvious how to get from eclipse.org to this page. I would expect that I can download a suitable Eclipse package for any platform by following the Download link at http://eclipse.org (as it was before, though it was not perfect) even without having the knowledge about the internal structure of Eclipse. At the moment, only the most prominent packages can be downloaded, but not the base system such as the "Platform Runtime Binary" (let alone different architectures such as Solaris 10 (SPARC/GTK+)) following the "Download" link. Could a link to the "Other Downloads" be placed again more prominently? I've just tried to describe how people can download Eclipse from www.eclipse.org for a more exotic platform but it seems to be overly complicated now. I could file a dedicated Bug report if it would have a chance.
(In reply to Sebastian Bauer from comment #4) > Could a link to the "Other Downloads" be placed again more prominently? How's this? https://www.eclipse.org/downloads I've broken the Related Links box in two -- one for Related Links, one for More Downloads. I think it makes more sense than before, and I've added "Other Platforms". http://git.eclipse.org/c/www.eclipse.org/downloads.git/commit/?id=303ce7a002a2e3d7f23fda3db3ed2a9391d60c3f

I don't know if there is a better wording for "Other Platforms" (because you can also download the "mainstream" platforms beyond this link), but it is now much better than it was before. Thanks. Maybe: Rename the box "More Downloads" to "Other Downloads" and the link "Other Platforms" to "More Platforms"
Reopening just to get the correct resolution.
Thank you for reporting this, Sebastian. With your help, I think we've made a small but important piece of our website much better. I think the wording this is there now is quite adequate. If we see that people are still unable to find what they are looking for, we'll revisit.
Adding the 'greatbug' keyword. Despite our two responses, in comment 4 you gently insisted something was still not right and in the end, we've made it better.
