Eclipse becomes unresponsive for long periods of time, and then I get a dialog that says:

Unable to execute dex: GC overhead limit exceeded
GC overhead limit exceeded

The log says:

[2014-09-11 16:50:55 - Dex Loader] Unable to execute dex: GC overhead limit exceeded
[2014-09-11 16:50:55 - MyApp] Conversion to Dalvik format failed: Unable to execute dex: GC overhead limit exceeded

also happens on debian stable see bug  457315
