Description Veronika Irvine CLA 2003-10-01 11:01:00 EDT
In Problems View:

"Superfluous" is a word not commonly used in English. Can the problem
description be changed to "Extra semicolon"?

In Window -> Preferences -> Java -> Editor -> Hovers:
"Show affordance in hover on how to make it sticky"

I don't actually know what this preference controls. The word "affordance" is
only commonly used by usability experts and will have little meaning to most
users. The entire "Hovers" tab item is unclear to me and could benefit from
a "usability" pass.

Filed separate bug 44007 for the first issue.

So you think French guys should not try to teach English to natives ? <g>
Fair enough, we will fix it. Pain for our test suites though...

Veronika, could you propose correct English spelling for the Hover tab strings?

The affordance preference controls whether the tool tips contain a status line
explaining to the user how to make the tool tip sticky i.e. it gets resizeable
and scrollbars (if needed).

>The entire "Hovers" tab item is unclear to me and could benefit from
>a "usability" pass.
Could you further explain what is unclear on that page.

I will look again at the preference page and get back to you.
