Up to now, we have rather outdated Graphviz DOT for Zest (dot4zest) 2.0.0-SNAPSHOT and Zest 2.0.0-SNAPSHOT components available at Eclipse Marketplace. I think we should remove those and rather offer GEF4 snapshots, i.e. the contents of the GEF4 integration update-site (if this does not have to be updated manually on each integration build).
There is no need to manual updates for each build. On the other hand, you have to select the features to install from the update site (if I recall correctly, even with versions). The only (possible) drawback I have seen is that only a single owner can manage the component; so if you create the node, only you are allowed to modify it. This might be important also for removing the old contributions as well.
Both the current Zest and dot4zest marketplace listings use the current GEF4 integration site. We could either delete these or add the other features to one of these and rename them. I suppose that will result in a preselection of all the specified features while installing. Does it make sense to have a single listing that installs all features? Or does it make sense to have separate listings for the different GEF4 components?
Fabian, could you please remove these outdated entries for now? As it IMHO only makes sense to offer end-user features via the marketplace, I would opt to create respective new entries based in the extracted user features of DOT and Cloudio (see bug #476940) as a replacement.
(In reply to Alexander Nyßen from comment #3) > Fabian, could you please remove these outdated entries for now? I've contacted marketplace@eclipse.org and requested removal of: https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/zest https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/graphviz-dot-zest-dot4zest
(In reply to Fabian Steeg from comment #4) The marketplace listings have been removed.
Thank you Fabian!
Changed title to indicate that we should publish our end-user tools only. We should further restrict ourselves to releases only (i.e. create these entries for Neon).
