When you right-click an event in the event editor, there is a small contextual menu that appears ("Show raw" and "Clear filters").  A new link could be "Add color setting" and would open the window for the color setting, pre-filled with the current event name, so quickly add color to this event.

This would be a nice addition and it would make the highlighting feature more visible to the user.
