I recently upgraded from Eclipse Juno to Kepler and attempted to run my custom e4 application. Unfortunately, the application is unable to render any parts or tool items. The log is full of stack traces similar to this: !ENTRY org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench.swt 4 2 2013-09-28 22:10:12.597 !MESSAGE Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in: with the same results. I'm on 64-bit Windows 7 running jdk1.7.0_25.
Are you running in your workspace, or have you exported your app? It looks like you are either missing bundles from the Kepler install that you need or are mixing juno/kepler bundles together. PW
I'm running in my workspace. I tracked this down to the Checker Framework nullness annotations we were using (@LazyNonNull, @Nullable, etc.). The workaround was to copy the source for these annotations into our project and add @Retention(RetentionPolicy.SOURCE) so they aren't seen at runtime.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
