Description Marcin Wisnicki CLA 2013-09-03 17:37:26 EDT
I have two eclipse installations on Windows 7 x64:

\eclipse-4.3-x86
\eclipse-4.3-x64

Since I'm mostly using x64 but infrequently find a need to run x86 but would prefer to have all plugins etc. from my primary installation I though about creating dropins link:

\eclipse-4.3-x86\dropins\parent.link
path=../../eclipse-4.3-x64

I've also tried other variations of path (less .., absolute) and created fresh configuration (eclipse.exe -configuration conf2) but without success - my plugins from x64 installation do not appear in x86.

Marcin,

A good way to start solving problems with dropins is to debug them. Instructions are here: http://aniszczyk.org/2011/04/04/debugging-eclipse-p2-dropins/.
Then launch eclipse -clean -debug -consolelog and see where is the problem (or paste the log here).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
