"Open Declaration" context menu not working. Message: "Problems opening an editor. Reason: trunk does not exist.". This is happening in a multi module project (trunk with sub-projects). Trunk is the top-level in the workspace. Project was imported into Eclipse using Maven Import Existing Project. -- Configuration Details -- Product: Eclipse 2.0.0.20130613-0530 (org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product) Installed Features: org.eclipse.jdt 3.9.0.v20130605-2000
Do you see an exception in the Errors view (or .metadata/.log in your workspace folder)? > Trunk is the top-level in the workspace. Are you saying you have a project called "Trunk", or is it a folder inside a project?
Wallace, can you see if you can answer Stephan's questions so we can try and find out what's going on in your set-up? Thanks!
More questions: - did m2e create individual Eclipse projects per maven module? - is the aggregating top level also an Eclipse project? - are the projects physically stored within the workspace or do they sit in some other folder in your file system?
I am facing same type of issue today. there were no .metadata/.log errors. my project is in work space. maven clean and build was success. but open declaration gives an same error stating my "root folder name" idoes not exist
looks like some issue in my folder Structure. deleted and imported once again working fine
Issue most likely OBE at this point, has not happened to me since then. Sorry, can't help duplicate at this point.
Verified with Eclipse Photon 4.8 M1 Build id: I20170731-0800 [based on comment 6]
