Description Mikhail Barg CLA 2013-07-29 10:23:05 EDT
For a time being CDT project settings contain pages which seem to have similar settings, but are different in behavior:

"C/C++ General" > "PreProcessor Include Paths, Macros, etc"
"C/C++ General" > "Paths and Symbols"
etc.

It's unclear which settings are related to MBS, which are related to getting CDT know of the external build system settings. It is completely unclear which settings are needed to make indexer be aware of the external build system configuration.

See the discussion and change proposal here: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/cdt-dev/msg26327.html

It would be also nice to have some visual explanations (tooltips, hints, etc) on what setting affect what part of the CDT infrastructure.
