Description Fabio Leimgruber CLA 2013-07-23 07:02:30 EDT
Eclipse: Kepler

Installed components:
- Mylyn Versions Connector: Git
- Mylyn Context Connector: Team Support
- Eclipse Git Team Provider
- Mylyn Task List
- Mylyn Task-Focused Interface
- Task focused interface for Eclipse Git Team Provider

I read up on this and found that on my Windows 7 installation, there is a button for "Show Change Sets". On the OS X installation and in another thread[1], I read that this option might hide in the mentioned dropdown menu.

This dropdown menu only shows:
- All Models
- Workspace
- Java Workspace
- Git Commits
- Flat Presentation

Is there a component that I am missing? Is there a config option for this somewhere? Am I missing something obvious?

Best Regards,
Fabio

According to a thread I started on the Mylyn forum, egit/Mylym change sets are not supported:

http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/1148769/#msg_1148769

I added an issue to Mylyn documentation to clarify this: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=420014

Though obviously adding support would be even better :) (but presumably low prio as I note in the linked thread, because if you use feature branches then the concept of change sets is somewhat redundant)

Thanks for checking back and filing. It is true that with strict branching policy there is little benefit gained from this feature (other than just seeing it working ;) ). But then some people do not (want to) get the git (way) and use git in a more "centralised" way...
