Description Wayne Beaton CLA 2013-05-21 10:25:13 EDT
Ecore Tools 1.2 will release with Kepler.

IP Log has been submitted and forwarded to the IP Team for review.

Please be sure to review the release review checklist

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Development_Resources/HOWTO/Release_Reviews#Checklist

Note that per Bug 393682, the Modeling project has been restructured and mid-level "container" projects (e.g. modeling.emf, modeling.emft, etc.) have been marked for termination. This project will have to be moved into the top level project. In all likelihood, very little about the project will have to change. We need to enumerate and effect those changes before this review can be declared successful.

Does modeling.ecoretools work as a project id?

I believe that the impact of this change will be:

* Project id changes;
* Project info page changes to http://projects.eclipse.org/projects/modeling.ecoretools
* Move Bugzilla from "EMFT/Ecore Tools" to "Ecore Tools/*"
* Move IPZilla from modeling.emft.ecoretools to modeling.ecoretools

I can't tell if the project has any significant representation on www.eclipse.org. Is the wiki page the real project website? Does it make sense to just drop the project website in favour of a direct link/redirect to the wiki page?

Project downloads are under downloads/modeling/emft/ecoretools. We can move them to downloads/ecoretools. Or, if this will be too traumatic for the community, we can just leave them where they are.

With the Bugzilla change, we should set up a proper "dummy inbox". The current project/component sends directly to an individual. This makes it difficult for others to follow project issues.

Are there any other impacts of the change?

You can make these changes at any time (the Modeling restructuring review has already been approved). When you're ready, you can either open a new bug or just draw the webmaster's attention to this bug.

FWIW, we should have moved the project out of EMFT when it graduated.

modeling.ecoretools works for me.

I don't think moving the downloads will be traumatic to the community, I only need to make sure I adapt the aggregator contribution for kepler when the move is done.

Setting a "dummy inbox" sounds good too.

Let's move :)

Oh, and you're right for the webpage, targeting the wiki page sounds better too.

We can wait to do this particular part of the move until after Kepler ships.

I declare this review successful! Please continue with your release.

Please assemble a list of action items to complete the move of this project. There are a few projects that need to move, so let's wait until we have all/most of them ready to go before we copy the webmaster and ask him to effect the changes all at once.
Comment 7 Cedric Brun CLA 2013-07-02 09:23:09 EDT
Here are the action items :

* Move Bugzilla from "EMFT/Ecore Tools" to "Ecore Tools/*" and set a dummy inbox.
* Project id changes to modeling.ecoretools;
* Move IPZilla from modeling.emft.ecoretools to modeling.ecoretools
* Move downloads from downloads/modeling/emft/ecoretools to downloads/ecoretools
* Project info page changes to http://projects.eclipse.org/projects/modeling.ecoretools
Comment 8 Wayne Beaton CLA 2014-05-06 16:07:59 EDT
Webmaster, please coordinate with the project to implement the following move-related action items:

* Move project from modeling.emft.ecoretools to modeling.ecoretools;
* Move Bugzilla from "EMFT/Ecore Tools" to "Ecore Tools/General" and set a dummy inbox.
* Move IPZilla from modeling.emft.ecoretools to modeling.ecoretools
* Move downloads from downloads/modeling/emft/ecoretools to downloads/ecoretools (with redirect)

Cedric, when is a good time for me to do the moves(bugzilla and downloads)?

Comment 11 Cedric Brun CLA 2014-05-07 11:31:34 EDT
Right now would be just fine ;)
Comment 12 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2014-05-07 12:09:55 EDT
Ok I've moved things around in our internal DB and IPzilla, added the re-direct to downloads(and moved the files). I created the bugs product,component,inbox and moved the existing bugs, but I didn't change the current assignee of any of the Ecoretools bugs.

Cedric, if you'd like me to re-assign all of the Ecoretools bugs to the new inbox let me know.

-M.
Comment 13 Cedric Brun CLA 2014-05-07 12:33:33 EDT
Thanks !

Please do so (updating the assignee) as the former team is not working on it anymore, hopefully that will be the last spam for them...

I've updated the PMI. Both of these URLs now point to the project page:

Done.
Are we good to close this?

I believe that we are, yes.
