Description Dennis Fridlyand CLA 2013-05-15 02:21:23 EDT
Eclipse Version: 3.7.2
Build id: M20120208-0800

How to reproduce the bug:
1. Open plugin.xml editor, Extensions tab
2. Change something (e.g. org.eclipse.ui.handlers handler, add 'enabled when')
3. Press Ctrl+S to save plugin.xml
4. After saving cursor in the tree moves to another node, not that one that was edited.

I can't reproduce in 4.3 or 3.7.2 (same build as you). Can you provide more detailed steps to reproduce and/or try them out in a newer version of Eclipse? We've had problems with the tree collapsing before, but usually in that case the selection is lost. It isn't moved to a different extension.

Reproducing the issue

Curtis, sorry, probably I described a little different issue, but still it appears in Eclipse 3.7.2 and rather inconvenient for us. Also we have a lot of extensions for 3.7-3.8 branches of Eclipse so moving to Juno is not the best option yet.

Back to out issue: after saving a plugin.xml editor, tree with extensions is scrolled to the top, so the selection becomes out of visible range.

I've recorded a video where you can see this issue. After editing value in 'equals' node I pressed Ctrl+S to save, after that you can see tree scrolled up.

Also (probably it's a different issue) pressing Ctrl+Z to undo doesn't produce the expected result.

Hi;
I tried testing this in 4.2.2 (Juno) and is not reproducible.

Dennis, can you see if you can reproduce in a recent build?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
