If a region extends another region, you can drag states from the extended region into the associated diagram. However, it is currently not possible to distinguish visually whether a state belongs to the original or the extended region. The states from the extended region should contain a decoration that enables this distinction, for instance as inherited elements in the class or composite structure diagram.
