We do have some basic code for Custom features that:

* Allow creating a task or bookmark feature for a pictogram element
* Navigate to the element (override IGotoMarker)

If the Graphiti team would be interested we would contribute.

Actually this is not a core part of a graphics framework, but it should ease the use case of providing markers for Graphiti diagrams. This was just asked for again in the forum. So from users perspective this extension makes perfect sense.

Since I'm somewhat reluctant (with respect to Eclipse 4) to include additional IDE dependencies into the framework, I would suggest to add such things as part of a new IDE specific framework plugin, e.g. org.eclipse.graphiti.ide.
