If you set your user id as your email address when connecting to a GitHub repository you can't update the issue. However, if you set your id to your 'id', then you can. For example, set my ID to irbull@eclipsesource.com and I tried to update an issue. When I hit submit, the changes do not take affect. However, when I change my ID to irbull, then I can change the issue. *By change I mean change the description, milestone, status, etc...
