In some scenarios, it would be nice to allow several objects to be selected after some feature processing.

A specific use case: 

I want to implement a copy/paste feature that works with several selected objects, aiming to the typical user experience: "select several" -> "copy" -> "paste" resulting a copy of the selected objects displaced from the original by some fixed offset. In this (very typical) scenario, the user expects all the new objects to be selected, so that he can move drag and resposition them as a whole.
