Meanwhile there are different ways to perform tasks in EGit. We should gain knowledge of how users work with it. If we had such data, we could improve frequently used workflows or make rarely used ones more usable.

This can be achieved with the Usage Data Collector, as described here: http://www.eclipse.org/org/usagedata/
