Description Sebastian CLA 2010-12-10 09:39:53 EST
Build Identifier: 20100917-0705

I use Qt Jambi 4.5.2_01 jar files in a "User Library" and when I set
the "JavaDoc location" to the folder that contains the JavaDoc (and it's validated as being correct), code completion will freeze.
When typing "." or using Ctrl+Space the code completion window will show,
but starting to type or scrolling will make Eclipse totally freeze for 5-20 seconds.
If I don't fill in "JavaDoc location" it will work fine.
U used the same setup with previous eclipse version Galileo and it worked fine.

My system is 64-bit but I use 32-bit Eclipse EE version with Subclipse plugin.
I tried to switch workspace and re-installed (removed all program and setting folders) eclipse but nothing worked.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. fill in JavaDoc location for a User Library jar file
2. open code completion by typing "." or ctrl+space
3. start typing and see window freezing

Moving to JDT UI for comment.

This works fine for me. Please provide stack traces while it's waiting. Also, it would be good to provide more detailed steps (attach the library and its source to this bug report for a start).

This looks to me the same as bug 329288. Can you please use a new build and check again? Should work fine. If it doesn't, please provide more info as per comment 2

Did you get a chance to try it out?

Unfortunately I didn't have any time, but reading the other bug report makes me feel it is the same problem and if that was solved, my problem should be solved too.

Will I have to download Eclipse from SVN or such to get that update? Making my version check for updates shows "No updates were found".

You can download a new eclipse build using the eclipse downloads page - downloads.eclipse.org. You can reopen this bug if the problem is still visible, and provide more info as requested. Thanks!
