This is an odd thing I've noticed about CDT's launch configuration.  
The Application is requested before the Project.  This is different from most other launch configurations I've come across.  The application should automatically get resolved based on the selected project.  Hence the project should be requested first.

Please see attached snapshot which compares CDT's launch configuration with JDT and PDE JUnit.
