Description Alan Lewis CLA 2009-11-02 04:27:55 EST
Hello,
I have just downloaded and installed the eclipse-jee-galileo-SR1-linux-gtk.tar.gz version on to a PC running openSUSE 11.2 RC2. The installation reported no errors and eclipse starts as usual. But thats where it goes wrong. The New->Project->Java Project wizard hangs on the very first dialog box if either Next or Finish are clicked after typing a name into the name field. Nothing happens and the dialog just appears to hang. If Cancel is clicked, then it behaves as expected. I have not noticed any error in any window. There might be some diagnostic reporting happening in the background, but I'm not sure where to look for it. Can anyone help?

Regards
Alan

Alan, I apologize that there has been no response on this bug for several months - this is because the bug got assigned to Platform IDE but the assignee still was "Dummy Inbox <epp.packager-inbox@eclipse.org>".

Is this still a problem? If yes, which Java VM are you using, can you provide us with the output of "java -version"? If you are using GCJ, this is not a supported Java VM for Eclipse, you will need to use a different VM.

I suspect you see bug 291257. If that's not the case and you can reproduce with latest Helios build then please reopen.
